GoodSeeker defines a “values-driven” employer as one that promotes workplace culture, celebrates employee success, and connects talent to brand in a positive way. The inspiration behind the list was to show that there are employers out there that “walk-the-talk” on values, put forth the effort into making employees part of their brand, and provide a voice to their employees.

GoodSeeker ranks companies based on a variety of factors to indicate a commitment to values, celebrating employee success, and using employee success stories in communications. They analyzed over 2,000 companies in the Greater Washington Region with at least 100 employees and looked for employers who put values front and center and demonstrated a clear commitment to celebrate the positive impact of employees every day. Their methodology is centered on how much a company publicly promotes employee success, and how engaged and vocal employees are about company culture.
The team at GoodSeeker pointed to Donaldson’s habit of highlighting the stories and skills of their employees on social media and their website, finding multiple pieces of evidence—like their monthly HERO and Employee of the Month awards, certification shoutouts, team event advertisements, and tenure recognition programs—which GoodSeeker views as demonstrating a commitment to their employees and their stated values.
